The latest month

Over Thanksgiving break, Kinley caught a cold and could not stop sneezing. And those sneezes came with a lot of boogies! I think she recognizes the asperator now and turns her head when I pull it out. But today, she is feeling much better and the smiles returned. During the last month, we have been busy with Kinley! I told myself I would post more often and now a month has gone by. And soo much is going on in our little girl's life. She is entertaining us with babbles, the sound of sucking (her hands and then gags), grabbing at toys and anything else she can reach and the best of all, giggling. I am back at work and Kinley is now going to James' cousin, Kara. We are happy she is with family, but wish it could be me instead. Eventually, we'll get there. And there is nothing worse than picking your child up and having them cry when you hold them. Twice now. Booo! We are preparing for Christmas and will be heading to Nebraska to be with James' parents. It will also be nice to see my friends and family who also live in the area. So here are some photos from the past month.
I took this a few weeks ago during tummy time. Still not rolling over, but getting close. She has mastered pulling herself to her side, arching her back and legs up along with a little grunting! If Oh well, I guess she's ready to skydive instead.
Action shot: Coughing!
Nebraska wins!!!
Kinley's first Thanksgiving!
MADE IN CHINA. It's ridiculous how little you find that is American made. Kinley is grabbing everything and then it goes right in her mouth. Favorite sucking item: Her hands. She gags herself all day long.
Christmas time! While James put the lights on the house, Kinley stayed inside with me and posed for some silly pictures.
Oh how I love the many faces of Kinley. I'm sure she's wondering, why the Santa hat?
Ohhhh, but I love the lights, mommy!
This time next year, she will be yanking those decorations down!
Loving my toy.
Waiting for Daddy to turn Sports Center on.
Being sick means staying in bed with Daddy while Mommy gets me Tylenol...and the asperator!!
Thanksgiving day.
At aunt Carmen's house.
Such a happy baby!
Playing with grandma Taylor.
Grumpy!
Kinley loves blinking lights and this toy (made in China) plays over and over and over at our house... Guess we should get used to this.
A few weeks ago, Colten came to visit Kinley. As we tried to get a photo of the two them together, Colten was more interested in tasting Kinley. Yes, tasting. Right after this shot, he licked his fingers. Silly boy!
Look at our little lady bug. We stopped at Nathan and Pam's to see their lady bug as well.
Watch out for the bug on the bed!
The cutest bug I will ever see.
2 little lady bug friends.
Happy Halloween!

10 weeks old

My little pumpkin is growing so fast! Today was the first day in her bumbo. She's only waking up once at night and a few times has even slept all night. Her neck is a lot stronger and she does good during tummy time. Kinley has also noticed her hands and uses them to rub her eyes when she's tired. She's really cooing and grabbing at her toys too. We posted a video below of her trying to hit one her toys. We started reading to her although she's not really into it yet. She's in her own room and doing great! She's eating more and even getting faster at it...finally. She used to take about 30 minutes to finish 3 1/2 oz. This is my last full week at home with her and I'm already dreading next Wednesday. I do not want to leave her!!! She's becoming more interactive and I really enjoy staying at home with her. I can't imagine the mess I'll be on my first day back.
Here is the photo we picked for Kinley's announcement. She's only about 3 weeks in this photo. A little late, but these just went out.
Here was another shot.
While back in NE for my grandma's birthday, Colten caught the flu. Here is my goddaughter, Daneal trying to help him feel better.
Ahhh, Kinley's favorite place to sleep.
Just another way Kinley's hair dries. I may have messed with it a little bit. She clearly thinks it's ridiculous.
Pre-game smiles the morning of the NE/ IA State game. Most of you know I went to NE and James to IA State. There was no way NE was losing to IA State. Even James agreed on this no brainer. Sadly, NE overturned the ball EIGHT times but only managed to lose by two points. Who's stinks more? NE and their turnovers or IA State for only scoring TWO more points with all the extra chances?
Favorite spot #2 for sleeping. (James' chest)
More family shots while back in Nebraska for my grandma's birthday.
Uncle Chad cuddles good, but she still wasn't looking at him.
Grandma Taylor with Colten and Kinley.
Who knew Uncle Ernie had the touch? Kinley was sound asleep for a majority of the night right in his arms.
Colten says, "somebody pick me up, I see cake"!
Aunt Carmen giving Kinley kisses.
Mornings smiles in the McMillion house.
9 weeks old! We have a few Halloween outfits so I'm making sure she gets to wear them all. We're a little early here, but doesn't she look great in ORANGE?

Anything you can do, I can do better. I can do anything better than you!

Cousin Kameron: No you can't! Kinley: Yes I can!!

8 weeks old!

I can't believe 8 weeks ago, our Kinleybell came into this world. Tonight, I put her newborn pj's and onesies away along with all her summer outfits. Although most of her 0-3 outfits are too big, I'd rather have her in big clothes than tight and short clothes. What am I doing up? Goodnight!

Kinley gets her shots

This is as far as we got in putting Kinley in her own bed. As you can see it wasn't bedtime. Look how little she looks in her crib. Tomorrow...
Monday morning, Kinley's doctor called and wanted to see her again. Since we were there, they went ahead and did her wellness appointment and she got her shots. :o(
She cried for a minute and stopped when I picked her up. Here she is (just after her shots) peacefully sleeping as we waited for her perscription.

Check out Kinley smiling at her silly Daddy.

From Mac Daddy to just Daddy Mac

From Mac Daddy to.....

...Daddy Mac. Literally. :-)

James, here...Well, the advent of Kinley was, inevitably, the demise of living the Mercedes dream. Actually, this was a long time coming anyway. Living in Colorado, in order to do all of those things that people visit Colorado for, one needs a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We decided to trade in the rear wheel drive sports sedan for a Toyota 4Runner with 4 wheel drive. Most definitely a wise decision. Not only is the 4Runner 4 wheel drive for the impending snow, it also provides plenty of space for us, Kinley and Kinley's growing hoard of stuff. This vehicle, coupled with the current front wheel drive Accord, should keep us from getting stranded out in the middle of nowwhere. So, now I go from being a Mac Daddy (at least in my own mind) to being Daddy Mac. Looking at my daughter, I'll consider it a promotion.

I'm moving out of my parent's...room.

Today, Kinley is 7 weeks and 3 days old. Old enough to move out. So we're attempting her crib tonite in her own bedroom. I'm more nervous than anything, but I think it's time we try it. The monitor is out, the batteries bought and I'll be taking the stuffed animals out of her crib shortly. Of course I'm trying to take care of all my concerns before leaving her all alone in that huge crib all by herself! I'm also buying a temperature gauge for her room along with a hydrometer. We'll have the cool mist humidifier running due to the dry Colorado weather. I know, I'm a freak, but this is my baby!! And I know I can't control everything, but I'll control what I can. We have a movement monitor too. If the monitor doesn't detect movement for 20 seconds, the alarm also sounds. BUT, you need a hard surface and we have to buy a piece of plywood to lay on the spring, first. Sounds so complicated, but worth it. Pretty sure I'm not sleeping tonite.
I also wanted to post her stats from her Dr. appointment last Thursday. Kinley's normal snorting and grunting sounded heavier, so I thought I should get it checked out. She is so short.
Height: 20in 3/4. - 7th percentile
Weight: 9lbs 5oz. - 26th percentile
Hard to believe that she still isn't as big as I was when I was born. Yikes!
Her next Dr. appointment is on the 21st and it's her 2 month. She gets shots. :0(
The first time she had shots, it made me cry so I'm sure after the 3 shots she gets this time, I'll be bawling right along with her. She also has a dermatologist appointment on November 3rd to see about the birthmark on her head. The Dr. said it could be an issue during puberty but we thought if it needs to be removed, why wait till puberty. We are going to try and post more often so we'll let you know how tonite goes!

Kinley's world during the past few weeks

Mommy was taking photos to put in my announcement and I grabbed her pinky and asked her to give me a minute.
After my bath, my hair gets super curly, but dries straight. Daddy is hoping for curly - wink, wink.
My grandpa Jan sent Lexi and me matching outfits. We tried to cooperate for the picture, but neither one of us were feeling it. This is the best one we gave up.
I met GREAT Aunt Jarma last week in Nebraska. We visited all week.
We stayed with Aunt Savana and here she is holding me.
I fell asleep during the NE-VA Tech game.
I woke up just in time to see NE lose. Booo!
Lexi and I sitting on my Daddy's lap.
Check out my shoes my great grandma Teresa bought me.
Practicing my runway moves.

I have one thing to say, sashay, shante!

Really mom? Look at us.

I'm so tired!

These clothes are too big; they make me look chubby!

I'm just starting to like my aquarium bouncer.

I really like tummy time.

I also met my cousin Chase.

Aaah, my aunt Gloria always makes me feel warm and cozy.

I met my great-grandma Eleanor.

After a long day of meeting new relatives, here I am on my cousin Colten's changing table. You can't see it, but I just blew out my diaper and the back of me was diiiirty!

How much do I love my great-grandma Teresa?

Here I am sporting my Daddy's alma mater. At least they won. Although it was against ARMY!

I have a new piggy that keeps me entertained in my car seat.

I really like to stick my tongue out eventhough mommy and daddy don't like it.

My hair does all kinds of stuff. Here's my Alfalfa hairdo.

It snowed this week so I had to wear my jacket for the first time.

Thank God I don't have my mommy's toes. It's not like my daddy's toes are beautiful either.
In a few years, I will be begging mommy to paint my little toe nails.

Lately, I have been sleeping with my hands on my face. Sometimes the light is just too bright.
