Bare Belly

We had a few photos snapped basically for Kinley's scrapbook.

8 months!

We are almost there! 25 days to go and I'm ready. It's getting pretty uncomfortable at night no matter how many pillows I have or how I lay. But I wrestle with enjoying my last few weeks of being able to do whatever I want and the peaceful silence, to being ready to get this little girl out and finally meeting her! James attended Daddy Boot Camp on Saturday and even volunteered to the change the baby's diaper. There were three baby boys there, so he wasn't able to practice on a girl. He said he learned some useful info on what to expect from the baby and what their wives may be going through after the birth. They went over what kind of Dad they want to be and what kind of Dad they don't want to be. But he says he is ready to clean the cord, bathe the baby and put the baby down when he gets frustrated. :o)

14 minutes

Welcome Lexi! Kinley's best friend! Haha, I know..they will probably dislike each other. Shiela had her baby today at 12:14am. Again, anyone knowing Shiela and I, we are quite alike. Shiela went in at 8am to be induced on July 20th. 15-20 minutes behind schedule (Mark was running late) they arrived at the hospital. The 20th was scheduled on purpose because I'm due to have my c-section on August 20th! Well after one long day of slow labor and mistakenly broken water issues, Shiela delivers at 12:14am on the 21st. MARK!!
Anyway, Lexi Ray was born at 7 lbs and 19 inches long. I can't wait to meet her and I especially can't wait for our first mother-daughter weekend trip all together!

The Eel & Ambro

James had a friend from Iowa State in town with his family and they came over on Friday night for dinner. James said they hadn't seen each other since 2002 so the two caught up while I got to know Jason's wife, Andrea. They also had their 2 little ones, Riley and Aiden who filled the house with little voices and preparation for the Disney Channel.

Backyard woes

Small yellow patches are making us extremely nervous!

James trying to make sure every spot gets water since we didn't put sprinklers in this year.

I wish we would have snapped a photo of what the backyard looked like before. But if you can imagine a field of dirt, weeds and sunflowers, that would sum it up. It rained so much between May and last week that we never had a chance to get the sod in. Finally, the rain breaks, we lay the sod and it hasn't rained since. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the sod takes and we didn't throw away a chunk of money on grass.

The hills are alive with the sound of music...

So James was in SLC for work and I had the evening to myself. I figure these days will soon be only a memory. I grabbed some Chinese, watched Oprah on the DVR, watched a few episodes of John and Kate plus 8 and watched the rest of "The Sound Of Music"; A classic I have not seen till tonite. I don't think I really enjoyed it till the family escaped to Switzerland but I can at least say I've seen the movie now. And you would be happy to know I only fell asleep for about ten minutes, until my aunt called and woke me up that is. I'm sure I would have probably slept longer. I think I'm going to finally buy a new camera this weekend. Not only do I need it for the classes I want to take, but to practice on the baby. The more I think about being a mom and the lessons I hope to teach her, working towards your passion in life is becoming more and more important. I need to quit wasting time. Plus, I want to be happy in my career too.

Colten turns 6 months

Baby in my sink

Who needs bathtubs?

Kinley's soon-to-be college of choice

There's only room for one Big XII school in this family!

Sidney baby shower (May)

Double shower with Shiela. We couldn't have planned this better. We are 5 weeks apart from each other.

Kinley's room

She's got her hooks for her jacket and bath towels.

Daddy installed shelving in her closet so she could have a spot for extra space and early collection of bedtime stories.

Kinley's Room

Grandma Mary Ann made the baby her first toy box. Something tells me this is going to fill up pretty quickly!

Kinley's Room

We chose a neutral ABC bedding set with circles and stripes. Grandpa Jan came in all the way from Florida in May and brought us some of the stuffed animals that are in her bedding. He also helped put the chair rail up and get some REAL blinds. Paper blinds were just not cutting it!

Putting up the tape

Color #1. We really wanted a bright, neutral room so we decided on 4 paint colors. We started off with the light blue which is an exact match to the baby's bedding. Of course we couldn't do anything without my favorite color orange. We also chose yellow and brown.

After searching for room ideas on HGTV.com, I finally found the room I wanted. James agreed and knew the biggest pain would be taping the wall down. We started off with stripes on the bottom. Chair rail 3 feet up and a solid color on top.

Daddy puts the crib together!

Tah Dah...but that was only the beginning!

We started the baby's room in May and are just about finished. We want to get one more thing to hang on the wall above her crib. But here's where it all started...

33 weeks!

We have our c-section scheduled; August 20th! That means 6 weeks left and we are ready! I haven't really started swelling up yet, but I have my share of complaints. It's starting to get uncomfortable at night. If the legend about having heartburn = a lot of hair, this girl has a fro! I have fibroids and they have been causing quite a bit of pain as well. She's got moves like her Dad...smooth and silky (Dad input here). Um ya, not what I was thinking. Although, the pain in my butt may be accurate. haha. Actually, James has been great because I'm sure I haven't been easy lately. I'm starting to fear the unknown of having not experienced a c-section and the "what ifs". I'm curious as to who she will look like. She's got a mixture in her so will she be white, dark or mexican looking? James says if she's blonde, he's demanding a DNA test. James and I put our guesses on the fridge. He's thinking 7lbs, 13 oz. 20 1/2 in long. I'm hoping for smaller; 7lbs, 2 oz, 20 in. long. Regardless, I am ready for her to be out!

7 month belly shot

This was taken in June, but again, I've been slacking on the uploading photos.

6 month belly shot

This is actually from May, but I'm just getting the photo uploaded.
